I’m finding it hard to balance myself
on this tight rope of life
I have all this freedom
to do whatever I like
I can ride the mountains
I can walk the trails
I can paddle the rivers
and listen to the news storm hail
west indies droughts to floods
kids spilling teachers blood
politicians cant communicate
morticians count hate ever day
silencing journalist for uncovering the truth
hey exploring naturalist, do I just turn off the news?
Or engage with the blues?

I could just sing a Sunday song
or dance at chance ecstatic
why does it feel so wrong
to smile at my nature’s violence
